Our History
In 1956 Bill Fountain opened our first store in Wainwright, Alberta. In the beginning, Fountain Tire existed only as a double-bay garage in Wainwright, Alberta. Then it spread, across Alberta, across the Prairies, and now across Canada.
Our Business
At Fountain Tire, partnerships are a core element of our DNA. Our unique 50/50 model provides our local managers the opportunity to own 50% of their store by partnering with Fountain Tire.
Our Partner
In 1987 we partnered with Goodyear Canada, one of the world’s leading tire manufacturers. Goodyear’s established marketing presence and our reputation as a leading Canadian tire retailer helped us both flourish.

Fountain Tire 2026 MVP Announcement
This year our organization’s highest honour, Most Valuable Player (MVP), was presented to Brian Adcock, owner of the Fountain Tire Innisfail, Alberta store. Brian was recently received the honour at our Owners’ Convention celebrating the company’s 70th anniversary year. “Since acquiring Fountain Tire Innisfail, Brian has delivered results that reflect exemplary leadership and a deep commitment to our values,” says Jason Herle, Chief Executive Officer at Fountain Tire.
